Reality show focuses on Mass moving company

March 16, 2011 - A company in Massachusetts that focuses on moving large, seemingly un-moveable items will be the subject of a new reality TV series.

"Deathwish Movers," will premiere on the Travel Channel Wednesday night, following the trials and tribulations of workers at Deathwish Piano Movers, a company in Malden. Led by owner Greg Keane, the moving company transports impossibly heavy, fragile or expensive items up Boston's narrow streets, from atop the city's high rise buildings, all while trying not to damage historic architecture and furnishings.

Keane has had clients ask him to move a 2,000 pound ice sculpture, an exercise machine worth $15,000 and even a live animal.

"We did a bathtub two weeks ago that weighed 3,000 pounds and was carved out of a single piece of marble," Keane told the Boston Globe. "No one else wanted to touch it, but that’s right up our alley."

Relocating families may have to transport all manner of items when moving into a new home. Renting a truck or auto transport may help in the move, but sometimes it's best to trust delicate or expensive items to a respected and accomplished professional mover, experts say.
