History:
Chandler was first discovered by Canadian Dr. Alexander John Chandler in 1891. A veterinarian by trade, he imagined what the town could become and worked diligently to get Chandler to that point. Prior to Dr. Chandler’s settlement, the area was merely a train stop. He was in large part responsible for helping to create the town, designed to center around the town square and to attract new residents to come to reside there. During World War II, the population grew significantly. In 1954, Chandler officially became a city.
