You've made the big decision to sell your property. Now what?
There are many questions you will need to ask yourself before moving ahead. The biggest question is: Why sell?
When you decide to move, it is not as easy as putting a "For Sale" sign in front of your home. So take a careful look at where you want to move in the first place. You may have little choice if you are being relocated because of your work or if you current home is too small for your family. Relocating simply because you want to move may not be the smartest thing to do and you do not want to make a mistake and that you may later regret. When you move you will most likely need to buy a new home and the expense involved in selling and buying can be considerable.
Before deciding to pack up and move, be sure you are not bringing the reason you want to move with you. What about your home do you not like? The furniture, the yard or the kitchen? Whatever that answer is ask yourself if there is something you could do to change the things you do not like. Maybe you could remodel or buy new furniture, which may be a much cheaper alternative than a move to a new home.
This section of the guide is designed to help you provide resources and provoke thought to make the decision when selling your property. Ask yourself these questions and decide what importance they have in your decision. Write the answers down so you have a quick list to follow up as you go through the process.
