What is the Deed?

The deed is the physical manifestation to the title of your home. Generally, the title company records the deed at closing. This formalizes the transfer of ownership and recognizes you as the official owner. This information is also used to provide your name and address to the municipality for tax collection purposes, so be sure the information is correct.
