Moving to Utah
Not only will you feel it, but you will see it, too. Natural beauty is ubiquitous in Utah, and provides great opportunities for photography, hiking and biking. When moving to Utah, you will be astonished by the sandstone cliffs with their monstrous heights and the canyons' deep gorges. When relocating to Utah you will be surrounded by some of the most gorgeous views in the country.

Capital City: Salt Lake City is the capital city of Utah.

Population: Currently, 2.4 million people reside in Utah.

Local Activities: There are many fun ideas, exciting outdoor sports and educational things to do in Utah. Visit Temple Square, Utah's most popular tourist destination where you can explore 10 acres of land. Three city blocks in downtown Salt Lake City contain nearly 20 attractions related to Mormon pioneer history and genealogy, including the Salt Lake Temple, the Tabernacle and the Family History Library. Or, check out Liberty Park, the largest and most central property of the city's public park system. This 80-acre park offers recreational activities for all. Children will love the Children's Garden and boating pond, playground, amusement park and snack bar. Seven Peaks Water Park, in Provo, is a water thrill park featuring the largest wave pool in Utah, seven wave patterns in the pool, thrilling water slides and 26 heated attractions that will appeal to the entire family. During the winter months, Brighton Ski Resort, locted just 25 miles southeast of the city, bills itself as a family-friendly resort. Catering to young families and snowboarding enthusiasts, Brighton Ski Resort's low lift pass prices, high altitude and an average 500 inches of snowfall per year keep tourist coming back for more.

Economy: Although the land in Utah is not particularly well-suited to farming, the original settlers of the state, the Mormons, were determined to use the land for agriculture. They also hoped that the difficulties of successfully farming this arid land would discourage others from settling in the area. Major crops grown today in Utah include hay, corn, barley and wheat, but the majority of the stats agricultural income comes from livestock including sheep, cattle, dairying and poultry. Utah tends to perform better than the nation over the long run due to strong internal population growth, a young, well-educated workforce, low business costs and a strong work ethic.

State Bird: The common American gull is the state bird.

State Tree: The blue spruce is the state tree.

State Flower: The sego lily is the state flower.

State Song: "Utah... this is the Place" is the state song. It was written by Sam Francis.
